Restaurant Review: Mamacita

What a brilliant lovely place in the heart of the city centre!
Abhi took me to this place earlier in July and we'll it turned out to be so good. I was craving Spanish/Mexican food and it seemed like my wish was granted when I had food here. We had some chicken tacos, chicken quesadillas, chicken soup and everything came in a sufficient portions with sides and yummy sauces.
The space is a problem there and one needs to make a reservation well in advance, why not, since the place is so happening!
To add to it, the ethnic picture of the lady with flowers in her hairs is so mesmerizing. 😍
Rating - 4/5.
How to get there - if you're in the city, just take a bus to Badanstalt or you can just walk up the place if you're at Hamilius.
Cheers!

Indian Restaurant Review - Taj Mahal

We tried this restaurant on the very first day when arrived in Luxembourg City. We landed on a Sunday and much to our surprise (read - shock for me) we could not find any shops open here. We came from a place where Sunday is the busiest day in markets and the streets are full of life and everybody is out partying. But when we came here, everything was plain, no sound of parties or people on the streets. Then our driver, the one who dropped us to our temporary apartment from the airport, informed us that life is chill here on a Sunday, people just relax, nobody is working and that we would only find a few restaurants open. On usual days as well, places, including supermarkets are shut by 6 pm, only a few are open till 8 and nothing is open on a Sunday. Yeah, I had read about that in blogs and the usual reviews about the country, seemed it was true! So yeah, I was kind of prepared for that.
So we reach our apartment and find an Indian guy there, luckily who helped us settle down and then asked us for a dinner, sure we couldn't refuse because we were super hungry. He suggested an Indian restaurant close by, and it is named, Taj Mahal.
Okay, so doesn't look like Taj Mahal, of course, and it's not even comparable to The Taj hotels in India, but the name was suggestive of the fact that they serve Indian food here.
So we went there at 8 and we were greeted warmly by the staff there. The food was amazing and we were able to cope with our few hours of homesickness!
They served pretty big naans (a type of Indian bread) and very delicious Chicken curry. The quantities were more than enough for two people. I'm skipping our new Indian vegetarian friend out of the chicken!
So yes, all in all a very good Indian restaurant near Gare station which serves pretty amazing and yummy food and you won't regret going there.

My rating - 3.5/5

Because the quantities of pakoras ordered were not worthy of the price charged for and plus the ambience. But yes, warm staff and good food!

Cheers! :)

Just arrived in Luxembourg

So here I am, after a long long time with loads of experiences and I must say that I am a completely different person than my last post.
But recently a major change happened in life, which is moving to Luxembourg. And that's pretty much the first time that I have moved out anywhere outside my home city or particularly country to stay independently.
So, the following posts are going to be my experiences in Luxembourg and the countries around.
It's been three weeks now since we, (me and my hubby - yes, I got MARRIED!! **Dancing**) moved here and I must say that it's a pretty bright country.
For those of you who don't have much about this place, it's a very small country located in the Central Europe, surrounded by Germany, France and Belgium on its either sides. That being said, the country has a beautiful combination of multi-lingual people and it welcomes you warmly to adapt to its culture. People here don't speak a lot of English since the common spoken languages here are French, German and of course, Luxembourgish!
Our experience has been mostly a beautiful one till now, although most of our time was spent in completing the moving formalities and looking for an apartment. However, there are some super bonhomie people here who made our stay very interesting.

Stay tuned for my next posts to know about the groceries and some reviews of the restaurants in Luxembourg.

Au revoir! :)

#100 Happy Days!

Sounds interesting and fun! Yes, its the new thing that everyone active on the Social networking sites seems to be doing.. My curiosity to know more about this campaign lead me to this page called www.100happydays.com
and believe me it was totally worth!! I mean after reading the entire thing, I was like "Yeah, I should definitely go in for this one!"
Its plain and simple rule:: Find happiness in any one thing you do throughout the day! Perfect for me because small things do make me happy.
So I am all set to post pictures of all the things that make me happy for the next 100 days on "instagram".. :)
(follow me:@ "irushme")
One more thing that I did and found was the site of "People for Animals" India. I loved the whole thing. I have begun to be an animal lover. Probably thats what has made me a "veggie" now! And, I am proud of my decision. :)
Feeling great!!
Perhaps, I should have started the #100happydays challenge from today itself!!! :D

New Year+ Wedding at Home= BLAST!!

Yeah!! The caption says it all and finally as Feb starts, that Blast has ended as well.. The new year started off with a BANG! That's Bhai's wedding.. and my place was like pink and beige blushing all around with sparkling lights!! And why shouldn't it have- after all that's what Punjabi Indian Weddings should be!! :D So this was first wedding at my place and I was more than excited.. There was so much to do.. Gifts, sweets, shopping and particularly when it comes to my shopping it takes longer and tiring expected!

So here I am, recovered from the wedding fever at my home and all set to narrate my experience of the best wedding I had ever experienced, with lots of fun and twists!!

The whole wedding thing was a FIVE day event and it was more of  a test match for bhai.. with little or no time to take rest in between.. still I would say that me and Palaq (my favourite little cousin sister) were the most relaxed persons at home.. 'Cause where everybody was busy running around places to set everything right for each and every event; we were busy chatting and playing Candy Crush and make each other's hairstyles!!

My bhabhi (BHABHU:: as I fondly call her) resides in an all together different town.. So we had to plan the events accordingly.. though the marriage took place at NCR, that's where we are based at..

I so want to post each and every event in detail:: But I am still waiting for the photographer to mail me the pictures.. The posts start at the very next moment I have the pics in hand!!

Signing off, eagerly waiting to write the next post!!

Coming Up post:: Wedding DAY I:: Satsang

Where's my life heading??

Its been more than an year and almost like four attempts that I have appeared for my exams..But I'm clueless.. I am unable to clear this thing.. The failure attached to this makes me wonder as to where's my life exactly headed.. The last time I posted, I had given my first attempt of my exams and was very wishful that I would definitely clear those exams as I have been clearing in the past.. But then, I was taken aback by the result that came out.. I failed..!!
And this time by a large margin.. My hopes were shattered and I started analyzing what went wrong.. The only thing that kept me up was my family.. specially my Dad.. he kept on encouraging me and reminded me that these are professional exams and its okay to face these things.. I was quite motivated this time and then appeared again six months later.. But then again.. I lost.. and this time I was lagging behind by just a few marks.. This thing demotivated me so much that I almost went into depression.. I quit talking to anyone related to my field or my office members and since last year I haven't been to that place due to my results..
Some people asked me to quit and focus on something else.. But coming this far and quitting was not my choice.. I had put almost five years of my life into.. how could I quit?? Giving up is simply not in my books.. but then this time I thought, that I would give the exams in breaks.. (like 4+4)..
So i started preparing and was almost fully determined to crack atleast one group.. but who knows what destiny has planned in for me.. during my prep days, I lost my maternal Granpa.. :( I was shattered again.. and the atmosphere at my place wasnt the least favourable for studying.. yet I knew that was ample time to study for those 4 subjects, I just couldn't concentrate.. Yes, those people out there who just view my life as third persons, asked to me quit making excuses.. so well yes, I failed again..
I took me a lot of courage and constant reminders and a hell lot of motivation to appear again.. and this time too, I have appeared and I am awaiting my results to be declared next month.. But one thing is sure, no matter what happens this time, I am not going to lose myself just because of the negative result..
There have been instances to take away my concentration in my "just appeared" attempt as well.. But I am prepared this time.. Positive or Negative- I dont mind.. All I know is that I am not going to give up..
Although I do feel at times that where exactly is my life taking me career wise, yet I know the picture will be clear to me  in the coming five years..
'Cause one of my teachers wrote in my slam book once:: "easily achieved things are forgotten easily, Its the hard earned things that makes you what you are in life".. and this thing motivates me till now.. I am out of the depression zone.. and helping Dad these days in taking coaching for professional exams and also I am focusing on my handmade cards creations..
I hope things get clear pretty soon..
:) with a positive feeling for the next year to come.. Ta-Da... :)

Mixed Bag

Since my last post, a lot has happened.. I appeared for the toughest exams I ever thought to give, went on a vacation and joined back my training place.. Although its been just four days that I have joined back this place, each and every day is coming as a surprise to me.. stupid stories have started to take place, there's just food and food every 10 minute and the atmosphere has become super-lively.. I am kind of enjoying it.. But I know, this wont last forever.. Just a few days more and I'll be either back home or pursue something else..

The last four years have been so joyous here.. At the beginning, it was like "I can't even survive here even for a day" and now it has become a habit..

There's a lot more to come.. I'm just keeping mah fingers crossed.. :)
